Day 0...well not quite!

Looks like everything is in place but the money didn't make it from the bank to the solicitor in time to get it paid to the vendors - seems the cutoff is 15:30 - so much for 24 hour banking! Ah well should be ready for tomorrow morning

5 Days to go!

Had a call from the bank today - they say that they will not lend us the money unless we have the planning permission to drop the kerb in front of the house - unfortunately with 5 days to go this is the first we have heard off this - the bank manager is on leave and not back until Monday we need to get this bit taken out or the sale will not go through - the tension is mounting! I'll let you know on Monday if we can sort this out.

6 Days to go!

As the start date draws closer Pete as gone off in his caravan to make sure that his batteries are fully charged when we start.

I have received the loan offer from the NatWest and a couple of insurance quotes. Am I cynical before I even start?...It seems that every corner you turn there is yet another person with their hand out saying "you go and work hard and make some money and give it to me - in fact give it to me now before you even make any!". This is before we make a profit and give away more to Mr Darling!!

7 Days to go!

By next Thursday - (31 January 2008) we should have the keys and be ready to start - this blog will record our progress each day and give you an idea of the highs and lows of property development. Today we went to the insurance brokers to make sure that we have insurance for the house and for any other liabilities.
